A kitten with no known origin was brought to RainClan, young, cold, hungry...
He was named Ravenkit, for the name that was merely heard--whispered--by an unseen cat at the kit's side. Warriors had approached the scene, the scent of blood undeniable. The kit lay still and cold, yet not dead, despite the fact his mother had gone. The odor of another cat was obvious, yet no other could be found by the patrol that, undoubtedly, had arrived just in time.
Kits age quickly, that is certain, and it was within the next few sunrises that Ravenkit began to speak and crawl about his new littermates. He became accustomed to Snowflight's kindle, quickly forgetting that he had been born of a different queen and a different litter.
Bluestar padded quickly to the Moonpool, her tail twitching irritably. "Rain has gone to fetch the colony!" She screeched, and hesitantly cats of old began to creep from the shadows. The stars in their fur seemed dim, despite the brilliant light that streamed into the cavern. Their eyes were distant, and their voices haunted.
"How many will come?"
"Will they survive the journey?"
"Can they fight in the war?"
The warriors fell silent, and watched as the ThunderClan leader tapped the pool with a paw. She gazed intently into the water, before her brilliant blue eyes swept upward once more.
"RainClan's size will rival StormClan, and with the help of HailClan, StormClan's defeat may be inevitable. Tensions are high, but I cannot see the future beyond the length of my own tail." She sighed, and sat upon her haunches, returning her gaze to the moonlit pool.
A cat brimming with a certain light, not unlike the glow of a fire, stepped forward. A grin stretched across his face, and his green eyes danced with glee.
"Regardless," he began, "it will be nice to see an old friend again."
